Intercessory Directorate

The purpose of the prayer ministry is to uphold the congregation, other ministries and the community in prayer and to educate, empower and inspire the congregation in their prayer lives. Prayer is the way we make contact and communicate with God. It is also one of the most important acts of a human being. God knows what our needs are. Prayer is also listening to God and knowing His mind. The Bible teaches that we are to pray continually and give thanks in all circumstances (1 Thess. 5:17). A prayer band is a group of members, dedicated to the ministry of prayer and intercession. They are members who put themselves at God’s disposal for the benefit of others. Their mission should be to serve the Body of Christ locally and around the world by praying for their needs and requests. (1John 5:14-15, 1Chro 16:11, 2Chro 6:21; 7:14, Eph 1:18; 6:18, Jer 29:12, Job 22:27, Mark 11:24, Matt 26:41, James 5:13-14, Psalm 141:2, 1Thes 5:17).
